Our bone joints are capable of withstanding certain amount of pressure and weight. Specially some joints like knee joints, the ankle, joints located at waist and joints of backbones are sensitive to pressure and weight. If for any reason you give a large amount of pressures to any of your bones they will be dislocated or may be broken or may be fractured. Everybody knows that. But what many of us failed to realize or simply ignore is the bad effects caused by overweight on these joints.
As our body keeps it’s balance mainly on the two legs so the joints located on backbones, waist, knee and ankles will have to withstand the pressure created by the extra weight you gain over time. As you haven’t got overweight overnight so the pressure is also not created on these joints overnight. The pressure gradually increases overtime on these joints. Once you become an overweight person then these joints start withstanding the extra pressure. They are not habituated to take this extra load. So if you become overweight and for a long time you keep the extra pounds then you will feel pain on some of these joints especially on the waist, knee and ankles. Most obese people actually starts to feel the pain firstly from the knee and ankles. And depending on the daily activities performed many will also feel pain on the joints at waist and backbone.
And for a long time if you are obese then your bones might be fractured easily compared to people having normal weight if you are not careful about your movements. This is natural and you don’t need not be a doctor to understand this. This is common sense. Right ?
What is the point then? The point is you have to learn to loose weight if your weight is not in normal range. Don’t risk your bones and joints by just ignoring the extra weight. Only 5 pounds of extra weight can cause you thousands of dollars for treatment of your bones and joints in the future.
