Sleep is one of the basic requirements for maintaining both fit physical and mental condition. But it’s a matter of regret that most people deprive their body and mind either intentionally or without understanding the effects they will suffer in future.
Our body is like a machine. Like other machines it needs proper maintenance as well as it also needs proper rest. Sleep is the daily maintenance of our body and mind. In our fast lifestyles and daily routine many of us pass their times with a constant stressful situation. Our brain gets dizzy and tired at the end of the day or for many of us it gets tired in the day period. It would be best to give our brain rest as soon as we feel that it needs rest. But that’s not possible every time. Because, sometimes we remain in a situation where we cannot expect to get time to give rest to our brain. Say for example you are an employee in a company where you play a very vital role. You might not always get the opportunity to relax. So what’s the point? What i want to say is many of us are always working with a tired brain. So, at the end of the day it certainly will expect some rest from it’s owner (Certainly it is you
). But instead of giving rest if you make it work then it will eventually reach to it’s tolerance limit and if you are unlucky then it will collapse at early stage of your life. It may not stop working completely rather it may work in a less efficient manner.
Now what can be those less efficient manners of your brain activity. Well you may find the followings happening to you.
1. You cannot remember the things now as you could do in the past.
2. You find it difficult to analyze somethings.
3. You find it difficult to take tougher decisions.
4. You find it harder to manage stress.
5. You may find that sharpness of your brain is decreasing.
By this way your brain works in a less efficient manner as you continue to do sleep deprivation for a pretty long time. This is just the case of brain. What about other parts of the body. Well those parts may be affected from less sleeping in a slower rate. But, like brain they also need rest and if you don’t sleep well there is a risk of affecting those parts too.
So, sleep well. Without a good sleep you cannot expect a good physical and mental health for a long time. It is your responsibility to maintain a good health. No one will be able to do that for you.
If it is not urgent don’t push your brain and body to their limits. For the moment you might get some result of your works by depriving the sleep. But in the long run you are just killing your body and mind like a slow poison.
